Generac's Commitment to Environmental Sustainability & Community Involvement

April marked the celebration of Earth Month and one of Generac’s favorite times of the year to take part in community events as part of the celebrations. These activities are part of Generac's commitment to environmental sustainability and community involvement.

Our staff cleaned up the environment around our facilities, removing litter and debris from the surrounding areas. By removing harmful waste, we can have a positive impact on our local ecosystem. By stepping up to participate in these activities, we hope to lead by example and encourage community members to get involved.

Generac also supported the local community and environment by participating in a tree-planting event. Trees are critical in improving air quality by filtering out harmful pollutants, enhancing the overall appearance of our community, offering habitat for wildlife, and reducing erosion. Our volunteers helped to plant and mulch 500 native trees at Fox Brook Park in Brookfield, WI. The planting done by this group will positively impact the park’s natural resources in the years to come as the trees grow and mature.

In addition to our Earth Month activities, Generac is also committed to environmental sustainability through its subsidiary, ecobee. ecobee is a leading manufacturer of smart home technology that uses energy-efficient practices and innovative engineering to reduce the carbon footprint.

This year, ecobee participated in Earth Month celebrations by conducting a park litter clean-up initiative. The initiative aimed to create awareness of the importance of environmental sustainability, while at the same time promoting eco-friendly practices. By participating in these activities, ecobee hopes to show the public that environmental sustainability is everyone's responsibility.

Finally, Generac is working to drive sustainability and reduce waste in our packaging. Through extensive testing and development from our Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams, we’ve designed a new packaging system for our air-cooled home standby generators. This advancement reduces the waste in our packaging and helps promote a healthier world for future generations.
