FESTIVAL FAQs

Rock the Green is a Travel Green certified event. Here is all the info you’ll need for a great festival experience:

Rain or Shine

Rock the Green is rain or shine!

Free Rock the Green Water Bottle

With the purchase of your ticket, you will receive one (1) resealable aluminum water bottle donated by Canned Water 4 Kids.

Fan VIP
With the purchase of a Fan VIP ticket, you receive access to a private lounge when showing your Fan VIP wristband.  Please pick up your wristband at the Box Office prior to entering the festival grounds.  The Box Office is at the corner of 3rd Street and Freshwater Way adjacent to the main gate. You will enjoy appetizers at 3pm followed by supper at 5:30pm donated by Buddha Lounge. Your ticket also provides you two free drinks and mini-massages.

Kids 10 and Under are Free

Kids 10 and under get free admission to the Festival. Enjoy EcoKids Stage programming. 

 

Food & Beverage

Not your typical festival fare! – Reasonably priced food (including vegetarian/vegan options) and drinks will be available on-site for purchase. Craft beer is sold on-site. Check out the local restaurants who will showcase dishes using locally grown, sustainable and organic ingredients!

  • Regular/Unframed Backpacks

  • Binoculars

  • Portable/collapsible chair (Individual seat only; no double wide or connecting chairs, no director’s chairs, bar stools)

  • Umbrella (Hand-held ONLY and no bigger than 42 in. when open)

  • Baby Strollers

  • Carts & Tents 

  • Illegal Substances

  • Framed or Large Backpacks

  • No Food or Beverage of any kind including Alcohol (beer & wine will be sold at the festival)

  • Glass Containers 

  • Skateboards, Scooters, or Personal Motorized Vehicles

  • Bicycles inside festival grounds (Check them at the valet)

  • Fireworks and Explosives

  • Instruments and Laser Pointers

  • Picnic Baskets

  • Coolers

  • Pets (except service dogs)

  • Video Equipment – no video recording will be allowed

  • Professional still camera equipment (no detachable lenses, tripods, big zooms, or commercial use rigs)

  • Audio Recording Equipment

  • No Unauthorized/Unlicensed Vendors Allowed. No Unauthorized Solicitations, Handbills, Sampling, Give-Aways, etc.

  • Weapons

Security and Safety

Rock the Green’s primary goal is to create a safe and secure environment for all festival attendees. To ensure this, there will be on-site security provided by local police and a private security company. If you need assistance, locate a festival staff member, security guard, or police officer.

 

ADA/Handicap Access

We are very excited to be hosting our event in a beautiful natural environment. The festival grounds are wheelchair accessible, but please be aware that as an outdoor festival, situated in a park, travel is over natural terrain.

Parking and Transportation:

New this year! RTG has a Festival Parking lot, you can purchase your parking in advance for $12 on our ticket page or pay $20 at the Festival. Reed Street Yards is located in an urban, green space located at South 3rd Street and Freshwater Way, just west of South 2nd Street and East Pittsburgh Avenue (Pittsburgh becomes Freshwater Way west of 2nd Street). Due to the festival setup, it is not accessible from South 6th. The Festival Parking lot is on the corner of Oregon and 3rd Street, enter the lot from Oregon Street. To reduce environmental impact, we suggest you walk, bicycle, carpool or use public transportation.  

Walk:

Enter Reed Street Yards from East Pittsburgh Avenue at South 2nd Street.  Walk west.  Pittsburgh Avenue becomes Freshwater Way.  The festival entrance will be on your right as you cross 3rd Street.

 

Bike Sharing:

Bublr Bikes is Milwaukee’s bike share program.  There is a station at the corner of  South 2nd Street and Freshwater Way where you can drop off your bicycle.  Find a station near your starting point here: https://bublrbikes.bcycle.com/station-locations/

Ride Sharing:

WayAround is Milwaukee’s own driver-for-hire service.  Download the app at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/way-around/id1033970342?mt=8 and enter the promo code RTG2017 for $20 off your first ride.

 

Bike Valet:

Ride your own bike to Rock the Green.  The complimentary Bike Valet hosted by the Milwaukee Bike Collective is adjacent to the festival main entrance at the intersection of South 3rd Street and Freshwater Way.  Enter from East Pittsburgh Avenue at South 2nd Street.  Pittsburgh Avenue becomes Freshwater Way. Ride west one block, cross 3rd Street and enter the Bike Valet located just outside of the festival entrance.

 

Public Transit:

Milwaukee Country Transit System Rt 19, 23 and Blue Line stops on South 2nd Street and East Pittsburgh Avenue.  Use the MCTS Trip Planner found here to plan your route:  http://www.ridemcts.com.

Handicap Parking

LIMITED AMOUNT OF Handicapped parking spaces are located in the parking lot at West Oregon Street at South 3rd Street. These spaces are reserved for vehicles displaying state-issued (any state) disability placards or license plates. Additional handicapped parking is located in designated spots in street or in lots/structures in Walker’s Point.

Re-Entry Allowed

Re-entry is allowed until 7pm with a wristband acquired at the main gate. If you do leave the grounds, be sure to be back at 7pm!

Hank Aaron Bike Trail DETOUR

During the Rock the Green Festival the Hank Aaron Bike Trail will be re-routed. See the detour map below:
