Rock the Green Announces 2017 Festival Family Programming and Farm to Fork Vendor Lineup


Sustainability festival will feature family-focused environmental programming and organic local cuisine

MILWAUKEE – (Aug. 31, 2017) – Local music festival Rock the Green today announced its family programming and Farm to Fork food vendor lineup. This year’s festival will be held from 2 to 11 p.m. on Sept. 9 at Reed Street Yards in Milwaukee.

Family programming on the Eco-Kids stage will include presentations from Urban Ecology Center, OmTown Yogis, Beevangelist, Living Lands & Waters and Teens Grow Greens. These programs and activities are focused toward helping younger attendees become familiar with sustainability efforts, and understand the significant difference small environmentally friendly choices can make. In addition to featuring environmental programming, the Eco-Kids stage will be powered by solar energy brought to the festival by Arch Electric.

“It’s essential for our children to learn about the incredible impact sustainable practices can have on our environment,” said Lindsay Stevens Gardner, founder and executive director, Rock the Green. “We’re thankful to partner with local organizations that are truly dedicated to sharing this important message.”

Eco-Kids Stage Lineup:

3:00 p.m. Urban Ecology Center: Cash Canoe

4:15 p.m. OmTown Yogis: Yoga Session

4:40 p.m. Beevangelist: Beekeeping

5:45 p.m. Living Lands & Waters: MC Sassy

6:15 p.m. Teens Grow Greens: Entrepreneurship 101

Rock the Green is also proud to feature sustainable, locally grown and healthy food vendors in the Farm to Fork area, presented by Meijer’s. Food will be served on compostable serving ware provided by Natural Tableware. This year’s vendors will include:

  • Buddha Lounge

  • Urban Kettle

  • On the Way Café

  • Dr. Dawg

  • Jamaican Kitchen

  • Hills Brothers

  • Pete’s Pops

  • Rishi Tea

The music festival, which strives to educate and empower the community to take actionable steps to live sustainably, has earned the Travel Green Wisconsin Certification for sustainability practices and as a green destination.

Tickets are $50 for general admission (free to children 10 and younger) and $100 for VIP admission, which includes premium viewing, nearby restrooms, food and beverage amenities and mini-spa treatments. Musical guests include Reyna, Baio, Mondo Cozmo, Barns Courtney, Girls Rock Milwaukee, Evan Christian Band, Devil Met Contention, Klassik, D’Amato and headliner Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals.
